Four “industry leads” are set to be appointed by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC), Construction News can reveal.
Last month the CLC board discussed three individuals who had already been lined up for the roles, according to minutes of the meeting seen by CN.
HS2 chief executive Mark Thurston (pictured) will be named as infrastructure chair while Helen Hare, director of projects at developer Great Portland Estates will be named chair for buildings and places.
The third-sector lead will be Anna Scothern, who will take up the position of chair for domestic repair, maintenance and improvement. She is currently chief executive at the National Home Improvement Council.
The fourth position, housing chair, has not yet been filled, although the minutes state work was being done to whittle down candidates.
It is unclear what the industry leads will be doing in their roles. Thurston was due to “talk to the press to announce what is happening” at the end of last month, according to the minutes.
The CLC board meeting was led by Mace chief executive and CLC co-chair Mark Reynolds, with others present including Richard Robinson of Atkins, Isabel Coman of Transport for London, Nick Roberts of Travis Perkins, Karl Whiteman of Berkeley Group and Hannah Vickers of Mace.
